Senior Systems Administrator

The candidate will be responsible for all IT related tasks within the United States. Responsible for all hardware and software needs in a Microsoft windows environment. Supporting servers, desktops, end users, external sales reps and satellite offices. The position will report directly to the V.P. of Finance.

Job Summary:

Responsible for handling all IT related tasks, updating software and hardware and troubleshooting problems. The individual must have experience managing IT projects, working with consultants and vendors. Must be able to work as a team player and give guidance in other departmental projects. The IT manager should have at least 7 years experience from a similar environment with at least two years at a management level.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Software Environment:
• Must have a through understanding of the following software in a multiple location environment, Microsoft Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 server and Active Directory.
• Experience working with MS Excel, MSAccess, and SQL .
• A through understanding data security practices, client and group permissions, and PKI technologies.
• Knowledge of industry standard best practices for server and infrastructure implementation and maintenance.
• Must have worked with McAfee Anti-Virus software suite or Symantec Anti-Virus suite.
• Experience working in an SAP manufacturing environment.
• EDI experience a plus.

Network LAN and WAN:
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Routing & Remote Access
• Thorough understanding of all concepts relating to DNS and DHCP in a MS 2003 Active Directory environment. Troubleshooting issues relating to network traffic.
• Working knowledge of Sonicwall firewalls, and VPN’s
• Knowledge of data backup and retention strategies with Backup Exec.
• Network print servers and Canon and HP technology.

Desktop Clients:
• Dell and Clone Desktop and Laptop Hardware troubleshooting and repair all systems.
• Windows 2000, 2003 and XP desktop installs, troubleshooting software problems, and have experience working with client applications.
• Support of remote desktop, server, and infrastructure needs.
• Communication with technical and non-technical customers; ability to multitask effectively.
